Guides Bill Allen, Scott Woolums, and Sherpa on Everest Summit 2010

Scott Woolums, who was my Everest expedition leader and my guide on many other big mountains, just finished his 5th round of summiting the Seven Summits (the tallest mountain on each continent).

I am honored to be among those selected by Orange County Register columnist David Whiting as Best of OC outdoors for 2010 In his article he refers to the six Orange County Mt. Everest summiters as the “Magnificent Six”  I don’t know how magnificent we are but we did climb a very big mountain :)

Had a great day yesterday. It began with a group hike up Mt. Baldy and in the evening I gave my Everest Presentation at the new Tustin REI. Each time I give the presentation it is like reliving the events.
