Reaching Beyond the Clouds

Tonya Mackey is an amazing woman and a fantastic cook. She made us a feast! I am so lucky to have been accepted into with wonderful (but very difficult) world of dog mushing.

Yesterday we did a 12 hour training run. Lance ran on his sled with his racing dogs and I was attached behind him on a whip sled. I have to master the sled before I can have my own train to run.

This is one of the house cats napping in a pile of the booties we put on the dogs’ feet when we run them. Looks quite happy :)

Just returned from my first “camp out” in the White Mountains. It was my first major training run with 16 amazing dogs. We went 65 miles rested,  then 50 miles. It was -40 degrees but the dogs are happy with full bellies and their straw bed. What an amazing group of atheles.
