Cystinosis Family Conference

by Cindy on Jul.15, 2011

I just returned from San Francisco where I gave my Reaching Beyond the Clouds presentation at a rare disease, cystinosis, conference. I always find it inspiring to be around others who are dealing with rare diseases. They are an amazing groups of people.

Lance Mackey’s “Come Back Kennel”

by Cindy on Jul.12, 2011

I had a great time working at Lance’s kennel and wish I could have stayed longer, but we both had to leave for speaking events. I did, however, experience some of the reality involved with caring for the dogs and planning to race a dog sled team.

Dog Duties

by Cindy on Jul.08, 2011

So, how long do you think it takes to scoop 105 dog’s poop into a bucket and haul it away? Hint: Lance has a saying, “If it’s the size of a pea – it shouldn’t be.” Lance’s dog yard is clean enough for people to eat on. Although, for now at least, I’ll use a plate :)

I love working with all these dogs!

Amazing Athletes!

by Cindy on Jul.07, 2011

I spent my first day with 105 of the most amazing athletes – Lance Mackey’s dogs! It was a day of learning and hard work, but I was rewarded with the experience of interacting with these wonderful dogs. But it’s late now and time to get some sleep. Living life is such an amazing experience!
