At Camp Two

by CindyAbbott on Apr.26, 2010

I am at camp 2 now (21,500ft). We will stay three nights to acclimatize and
then go back to base camp: with all its luxuries! Last night we had the most
wonderful view of the moonlight on the Lhotse Face and Mt. Everest.
Climbing the Khumbu Icefall was amazing – I will post pictures when I get
back down. Have to go help build a tent platform from rocks: very
comfortable :)

That does sound comfortable. I think I’ll sleep on my concrete driveway tonight covered with ice cubes to get some idea of what your going through. How’s your physiology doing? How is your heart rate and O2 sats?

Three nights on a tent platform of rocks gives new meaning to being caught between a rock and a hard place. Someone once said, “the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” Thoughts and prayers being sent to you and your climbing team. LOL, Kathy

Your sleeping arrangements, sleeping on rocks, sounds tough. I am going to sleep on my concrete driveway covered in ice cubes tonight to get a sense of what your are going through. How is your physiology? How is your HR and O2 sats?
