I just returned home from training in the Alabama Hills just below Mt. Whitney. I had a great time climbing with Jed from Sierra Mountain Guides while Larry did an all-day hike.
Mrs. Abbott,
I had you for a lab class few years back and had a great time. You
were so upbeat and caring towards the class thank you. I wish you
luck on your many journeys ahead and I hope one day I have the
courage like yourself to pursue such amazing adventures you have
done. Your spirit and story touched me. Please always have your
upbeat attitude and keep smiling. Hope everything works out for you
in your favor. Take care.
Hi Cindy!
I don’t know if you’ll remember me, but I was one of Eric’s SCUBA kids back in the early 90′s- you (& Larry, of course) divemastered for our class. Back then you probably had no idea how much of a roll model I considered you, or how much I admired you. I had just finished watching the Everest-Beyond the Limit series on TV & was in awe, & then a day or two later I saw your story on a Facebook link; I just about fell out of my chair with excitement. I’ve never forgotten you & Larry & you can be sure I’ll be following your Everest adventure very closely! It doesn’t surprise me one bit to hear that you are taking on this challenge & overcoming the adversity of your diagnosis. This is exactly the type of person I remember you to be. I would love for our paths to cross again someday! But in the meantime, I know you have a mountain to climb! So I’ll make you this offer: When you get back from Everest, drink’s are on me. You’ll be in my thoughts, Cindy. Best Wishes on your epic journey!
