Nice place to meet people . . .
by CindyAbbott on Nov.22, 2009
We, hubby and I, just returned from our weekly climb of Mt. Baldy. Two weeks ago, just before reaching the summit, we met Stuart: a very nice man. Today (as if it was arranged) at almost the exact location: there was Stuart! So, we sat down and chatted for a while on the summit (it was a beautiful day). I found out that he is 67 years old and has four resent battles cancer: And now he is back climbing Mt. Baldy! Stuart represents the spirit and will to continue living life that I so admire – I wish that he could join me and trek to Everest Base Camp.

Good People
by CindyAbbott on Nov.17, 2009
In my limited time with this amazing group of people called mountain climbers or Alpinists, I have meet some amazing people! When I first signed-up to climb Mt. Everest it was with Russell Brice’s HIMEX. He runs a great operation, is an amazing athlete, and a gentlemen (with a firm hand when needed). Then after training for the past two years with Scott, I learned that he was going to be leading a group to Everest in 2010 and I changed over to his Everest team: he knows me and my abilities very well now. I have to say that Russell Brice was very understanding about the switch and I will thank him in person at Base Camp in April.
Mt. Hood Training

I just returned home from several days of training on and around Mt. Hood, Oregon. Did some rock climbing and rope work, then hiked up Mt. Hood but too much hip-deep fresh snow – still great training :)
